Watch out if parking in Tesco mother and baby

Just a quick note to all carers of small children (grandma myself, come child minder). I recently visited Tesco with my baby grandson and managed to find a baby space which I thought great easier to get him in and out, cut a long story short I received a parking fine in the post which they are up holding. Please be careful if using Tesco parent and child spaces it could cost you.It seems they don't have the CCTV when requested it conveniently....

What was the fine for?

TheBeaTgoeson1 · 06/09/2025 11:05

I don’t understand? A parking fine for what?

herbalteabag · 06/09/2025 11:06

That doesn't sound right unless you overstayed the time limit.

SirChenjins · 06/09/2025 11:07

Did you stay too long in the Tesco car park snd go beyond the allowable time? If not, what was the fine for?

Remingtonsteele · 06/09/2025 11:13

That’s what I’m wondering. The limit is 2 hours in the big Tesco by me.

SirHumphreyRocks · 06/09/2025 11:23

I think you needed the long story...

aspidernamedfluffy · 06/09/2025 11:58

Did you exceed the time limit, park correctly within the lines? I doubt very much the fine was solely because you used the M&B space.

Mightymooo · 06/09/2025 11:59

Have you tried speaking to the store? If you call them and ask to speak to the manager they might be able to help

SummerFrog25 · 06/09/2025 12:07

???

SunnyD4ys · 06/09/2025 12:08

Are you expecting us to guess why you got a fine?😀

What a daft OP

InMyOpenOnion · 06/09/2025 12:10

What is your alleged infringement?

Notmyreality · 06/09/2025 12:14

Did you let your 6 yo Dd have a wee next the car?

BitOutOfPractice · 06/09/2025 12:16

If only we could issue fines for annoyingly vague and/or confusing OPs!

MaggiesShadow · 06/09/2025 12:20

Huh??

Tollington · 06/09/2025 12:26

If it’s not from the Council or Police, don’t pay

All you have to do is admit to being the owner but not the driver at the time in question. I got a “parking invoice” quashed for an eleven minute overstay

Hallywally · 06/09/2025 14:40

What’s the basis for the fine? Overstaying the minimum length stay? Not having young child with you?

SirChenjins · 06/09/2025 18:14

No response from the OP?

Pollqueen · 06/09/2025 18:59

Makes no sense whatsoever

BeltaLodaLife · 06/09/2025 19:01

Um, if they don’t have the CCTV to prove that you didn’t have a child then how can they issue the fine? They need the proof. If they don’t have it then just don’t pay, let them take you to court.

Elle771 · 06/09/2025 19:03

There's no way the fine is related to having a child with you (or not!!) So OP makes no sense

Luxio · 06/09/2025 19:06

SirChenjins · 06/09/2025 11:07

This is what I was thinking. It's obviously not for parking in the space when you had a child with you so it's probably because you overstayed?

BabyBadaBing · 06/09/2025 19:07

Op not coming back, guess they're paying the fine

RedRiverShore5 · 06/09/2025 19:10

It will be the time limit or sometimes for not parking within a marked bay

NerrSnerr · 06/09/2025 19:27

What was the fine for?

BitOutOfPractice · 07/09/2025 06:59

Oh lord avoid these disappearing OPs really get on my last nerve!
