Car Bump

I was involved in a minor car bump a few weeks ago. My fault. Very minor damage to the other car. My car was fine. I said I would pay for the damage rather than claim my insurance which the other car owner was fine with. I've provided my details but have heard nothing since. I would really like to have a price so I can work out my finances (I have other bills that i'm holding off paying). Am I being unreasonable in hoping that I should have being given a quote by now? Im a worry bug so not knowing how much is killing me.

You should’ve just let your insurers deal with it.

@Shade17 it was probably about £100 worth of damage at the most. Not worth my £500 excess or the rise in my insurance next year.

The problem is that quite often the “£100 worth” of damage turns out to be significantly more and in that instance the third party decides to go through your insurer. The fact that you haven’t reported it to your insurer as you are no doubt contractually obliged doesn’t look great. You don’t pay the excess on third party claims.
