We have one car which my husband uses for work (he gets 50% from them). He generally chooses the car we get and until now he’s gone for larger types like Kia which we all enjoy. Last year he decided he wanted a Tesla. I’m a driver but I don’t have a car - if I did it would be with gears because I love driving and to me, that’s part of the experience. Anyway I went along with him thinking why not? It certainly looks cool, no petrol consumption etc.
Anyway.. I HATE it. Every time we go in it anywhere I’m sick to my stomach - the kids complain of nausea too.. none of us is ever carsick. The glass roof means that we are lasered and cooked by the sun. The aircon can’t be turned off on the passenger side so I have to stuff a T-shirt into the vents. Everything is done through one screen so he’s always fiddling with it instead of concentrating on the road. It means I have to go into the screen every time I want to do anything instead of just touching whatever I need - like the glove compartment. And regarding safety, I had to remove the lining on the back doors to get to a mechanical door opener because if the electrics ever give out, I wouldn’t be able to manually open the doors.
I think it’s the worst car I’ve even been in and really badly designed. Does anyone else have an opinion?
