What to do about my logbook?

Hi, I have just bought a car at popular car auctioneers. It came with a photocopy of the V5 (as stated before I purchased) I want to sell the motor on but I don’t really want to put the car in to my name and add an owner to the log book. But not sure what to about a new log book? And how I apply for a new one without it being in my name? I have very little experience in this situation so any help will be greatly appreciated?

You can’t get a new logbook without having it in your name. The car should have been registered to you by the auction house.

Auction cars regularly come without it and it’s up to the purchaser to apply for one.

OP, are you looking to make a profit on this? Be aware that this could very much make you appear as a trader and that you may have obligations under CRA 2015.
