Caring for elderly relatives? Supercarers can help

Will an extra weekend shift affect my Carer’s Allowance earnings limit?

Hiya
I work in a care home school hours usually 9-1 9-2 or 9-3. 3 days a week. I also receive CA. So always within the £196 /week eligibility.
my boss asked me to help out over a weekend this month as they are short staffed. I said yes not thinking (dad has them on this weekend) .
just worked it out and the shifts = to earning over this £196 at £206 not including my week shifts either which would be around £175 Shall I cancel these shifts of will it just even out over the 4 weeks? Sometimes I would earn less then £196 /week. My payslips don’t break down weekly pay either. I get paid from my job on the 10th of every month too so unsure how this is in line with the 4 weekly pay for carers.

The entitlement is weekly even though it is paid 4-weekly.

If your pay normally amounts to almost £196 per week, after deductions, then this will take you over, even if averaged over the month, so you will lose 4 weeks of carers allowance. On that basis, I'd cancel.
