Carers allowance wait time?

Does anyone have any recent timescales of how long new carers allowance claims are taking? Currently not working so hoping it’s more straight forward than if I was. Also not on UC..

It took a few months for me because I'm self employed and they had lots of questions about my finances, but then I got a backdated lump sum and it was ok.

i called up about this on Friday and they said it was taking 12-15 weeks at the moment. It gets backdated up to three months.

I’m worried I’ve made it less straightforward by accident too!!
On the question about ‘when do you want the claim to start?’ - I put my child’s DLA award date which was July. But on the ‘how long have you provided 35 hours of care for?’. I put my child’s DOB. I’m now wondering if that was the wrong date to put? Any ideas?
