Hi all,
The company i work for has just implemented this system for absences. Whilst I don't disagree with using this mathematical tool to score unauthorised leave,I have just received a really nasty 1st warning after triggering and overall score (from a rolling year) of 350.
I recently took a 6 day leave (total of two weeks of a three day working week) with a sick note from my GP,this triggered my score!! Not a happy employee I must say 😟
Anyone else had experience of this system?

It is an 'equal opportunities ' way of getting rid of people who have health issues - plus making sure employees come into work and spread germs around as much as possible, even if they aren't productive at work while ill.

The rationale is that it addresses employees misusing sick leave.

It really does seem to work like this in some companies, seem to feel it justifies the management to discriminate against genuine sickness ,wven when accompanied with a General Practitioners request for Sick leave

I think it won’t matter that it was only 6 working days, they use length of sickness (I think). So being off Friday and Monday counts as 4 days

I think it’s appalling. The day they implemented this at my last workplace was the day I handed my notice in and went somewhere that actually supported me to contribute to the company. Its a useless blunt instrument that doesn’t account for caring duties, chronic illness or disability (God help you if you have all three) and only rewards presenteeism not your actual value as an employee and I feel very strongly about it.

I think its a terrible system that penalises people with health conditions.

The rationale is that longer but infrequent absences are more genuine than frequent short absences.
My current employer has solved the problem by not paying the first 3 days of sick leave and only offering pay for a max of 5 days in a rolling year. And its a large finance based business.

As a severe migraine sufferer I ended up with a score in the thousands.

Which caused more stress and more migraines.
