Hello All! I was wondering if anyone here has a loved one or family member in a care home, who has been assessed and awarded NHS FNC. But have not seen the £254.06 a week reduction off their care bill and they’re still paying the same rate? I would love to hear from you! Thank you

My mum got fnc. She is unable to speak, has to be lifted with hoist, doubly incontinent, fed only liquid food, skin breaking down. However her needs don’t warrant chc because they are not “unpredictable “ enough. She is in a care home where multiple carers are assigned to her but it’s not a nursing home (a district nurse comes in). As such even though she has fnc we can’t use it. Which made me wonder if that was why they awarded it.

Does that mean the care home are receiving the money? Or no-one is, as in @Rumplestiltzpost?
