Can you claim carers and get the highest disabled child element?

I've read you can't but when I do the entitlement calculator says i can? Does anyone know or does anyone claim the 2?

Yes. You need to be in receipt of middle or highest rate care to claim carers’ allowance

So my son recieves hrc and lrm so can I claim.carers and highest disabled child element in uc? I've read with it being the highest you can't claim carers?

Yes you can. I think you're thinking of the 'severe disability premium' of ESA, for adults who live alone. They can't get that element if someone is claiming carers allowance.

You can claim the 'severe disability' premium for a child and get the carers premium, and claim carers allowance (although carers Allowance will be deducted pound for pound from your UC award).

Oh right I see thanks so much for your reply that makes more sense, yeah I couldn't find anything online really for child disability element was mostly coming up for the adults, thanks so much for your reply though 😀
