I finished work on 30th June, and claimed Carer's Allowance on 1st July. I expected to wait many weeks before my claim was accepted. I thought it would be because my DH gets indefinite Attendance Allowance, and I have absolutely no income.

Yesterday one week's Carer's Allowance was paid into my account. I'm very grateful but I asked for four weekly payments, I haven't had a letter and only 10 days have gone by since my claim.

I feel very confused. Do you think I should ring them and find out what's going on?

Is it sorted now? I had it weekly. I was expecting it to take weeks to come through but it was only about a fortnight. Mine was back dated though.

Yes, I had the one single payment and then today a four week payment. My letter came and the single week was to catch me up and now I'm on regular 4 weekly.
