Hi all, applied for carers allowance for my son who has autism back in December (applied online). Had a text today to say a decision has been made and I’ll receive a letter within the next 10 days with my decision. Does that sound helpful or not??

He received middle rate care and low rate mobility DLA. I am struggling to work around his needs.

My partner works but am I right in thinking that’s my income and not my partners??

We don’t receive any other benefits.

Can't see why you wouldn't get it OP.

If you have been successful you will most likely receive a payment before the actual letter. Everyone who I know and myself did. Ours goes in on a Monday weekly. So maybe worth checking your bank on Monday xx

I think if you meet the criteria you get it. It's a tick box system and not subject to assessment of need like DLA.

Did you meet all the eligibility requirements? I also understand that sometimes you'll see the payment in your account before you get the letter.

Thank you all! It’s taken 7 weeks to fingers crossed it’s all okay. Will they back pay from the date I applied?

I’ll wait for the letter 😃

Hello,

I received this text on Thursday and wondering what people’s outcomes were that received this text. Did you get a payment on the Monday before the letter came in?
