Compliance interview

I have googled and had no joy, I am in a bit of a bad situation at the moment. I have struggled with severe mental health issues and had a family member taking care of my finances. I have been overpaid my carers allowance which I found out yesterday when I took all of my paperwork to CAB as my family member had struggled to sort certain things. I called to tell them what had happened and to set up a payment plan. I got told it has been escalated (letter sent to old address so didnt get it) and have an interview under caution. I explained the situation that I'm very unwell and want to pay it back and they told me to call the compliance team. It's been so long since I received a letter from them as it had been dealt with and thrown away. Does anyone have the compliance number? I have googled and called so many numbers but my nerves are fried. I just want to fix this mess Sad

Thanks in advance x

Hi. Call this number 0345 604 3719 which is the national job centre enquiries and explain and ask to be put through to the relevant team. If they wont ask them for a contact number for the relevant team

Did they say when your interview is? You can take an advocate with you or a solicitor

Who do you care for?

Do you mean carers allowance or a different benefit, because carers allowance is paid to the person doing the caring not the person needing the care.

Its carers allowance, I worked under the amount capped I care for my son. As my illness got worse I couldn't cope so a family member took control of finances. They came to ne this week and said they found it too daunting and felt they were making it worse so they supported me to CAB. After they went through all of my finances it showed some times I did overtime which I didnt get much choice in and it took me over. I called the carers allowance number to tell them and to sort paying it back but they then informed me it had been escalated

Yes they have rearranged it for 22nd of August as it was clear I had moved and the letter was sent after the move and also after my relative arranged address changes for me
