Is it worth getting one of those infant carrier things?

We have a v nearly 3yo DS1, with DS2 due in the summer and I'm wondering whether to buy another 0-3years car seat, or to just buy one of those infant carrier things until DS1 outgrows his 0-3 years car seat and then put DS2 in it.

What have the rest of you done in this situation with a 3ish year age gap?

TIA

we used an infant carrier for ds while dd was in her 9 month-4year seat. DS then moved into her car seat around 9 months and she moved into a high backed booster seat as she was the correct weight for it by then (just under the age of 4)

most baby carriers are suitable to 15-18 months(13kgs). i just moved mindee out at 19 months to rf group 1. so you could keep the new baby in it to ds is the correct age/weight.

thank you folks, wasn't sure whether to get another car seat like we've got for DS1 or to get an infant carrier. think we'll go for an infant carrier as it will be easier when out shopping etc.
