RF car seats and Honda Jazz - any recommendations?

Hi,
We have a 2005 Honda Jazz and are looking at rear facing seats. My preference is for a Maxi Cosi Mobi or a Britax Multi-way but am not sure if they will fit. Anyone have any experience of putting a rf seat in the back of a Honda Jazz?

Sorry should have said we're looking for a rear facing group 1 seat.

My DW has a Jazz and used a rear-facing seat for our baby, and will do again for the one coming along soon.

It was a brand from abroad, so not the same as your contemplations, but I wouldn't worry -- it will work.

However we have Maxi Cosi for the toddler seats and and have been v happy with them.

hi,

we have the britax two way elite for ds. i liked the multi tech but when it was in dps car-a seat leon it was far too upright because of the angle of the seat. we have had it in small cars and fits in all we've tried it in.

good luck with the mobi-this was my 1st choice for ds but they are a nightmare to get hold off, unless you ship from abroad. mc are really dragging their heels over releasing them here...mostly because apparently british parents prefer ff colours! there was one person on the rf website who had one but it didn't fit her car and she sold it on. maybe you could ask on there?

are you anywhere near belfast or milton keynes? www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk do the widest range i think as some are exclusive to them.

Our Britax two way elite fits fine in my mum's jazz.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know that at least one Britax seat will fit. There's a place in York - Paul Stride - that is supposed to be getting the Mobi in soon. I'm hoping to avoid traveling as far afield as Milton Keynes to get the seat.

Have you talked to the ladies at the Essex In Car Safety Team (part of Essex County Council, but happy to offer support to parents all over the UK and contracted to do a lot of the car seat safety checks at fire stations for other counties - and as they've looked at a lot of car seats in a lot of cars they may well have personal experience of what fits in a Jazz). They've also prepared this document on fitting RF car seats and the space they require. If space is an issue then I'm not sure the Mobi will be suitable - its one of the largest RF car seats in the market.

Its also worth posting on the forum on the www.rearfacing.co.uk website - they're a friendly bunch and, having been through the angst of having to make a long distance decision, many are happy for other parents to try their car seats in their cars so that they can buy with confidence the seat will fit. We wound up buying our BeSafe IziKid from Sweden, but tried it first in this way.

Good luck

Thanks Tangle. I gave them a call and it sounds as if the Two Way Elite is the best fit for a Jazz. Sounds like I have to give up my plans for a Mobi.
