As my DD is just about outgrown her infant car seat, I was hoping to get a group 1 rearfacing car seat. I went to have a fitting tonday only to find that a rf car seat just wouldn't work in my car (Kia Picanto) or be suitable for DP's van (renault traffic crewe). I say it wouldn't work 'cause there would be absolutely no room for anyone else inthe car apart from me and DD.

I'm disappointed as I feel rf'ing are the safest but what would be the next best thing?

Any one else had a similar situation? What ccar seats did you go for in the end? Am thinging either a Britax King plus or the Kiddy Infinitypro. DD is 10mo and very squirmy so not sure how well the Infinity would hold her in. Thanks!

am just about to get a kiddy pro and from what iv read they are the safest ff seats and i don't think even wriggly children can squirm out if the impact cushion is on properly. we are getting that one as apposed to rf as i need to move it between 3 cars and can't afford to spend much and gp cars are older cars where most car seats have buckle crunch in htem.

BMW & porsche do a stage 1 & 11 car seat with an impact cushion util 18kgs and is isofix. I think they are the same car seat with different labels on btw.

We have a BeSafe iZi Kid/Combi and have it rearfacing most of the time when its just me and DD in the car. When we need more space for passengers we just turn it round so its forward-facing, and also can have it forward facing in DH's car which won't fit a rearfacing seat at all. Not sure if this would be an option for you, but maybe worth looking at.
