Car seat in N reg Micra for 15mth old

Can anyone please help?

I have a N reg 3 door Nissan Micra and have been told by Halfords that no car seats will fit in it. They are saying it is because of the long seat belt buckle part (not sure of the proper name).

I have had a britax rock a tot in the front seat with my dd since she was born as it wouldn't fit in the back on either routing. She has only just hit 20lb so I have kept her in it as long as I could but all Halfords can suggest now is to put the next stage car seat in the front too. Does anyone else have the same car with a seat they can recommend or is this really my only option?

Thanks for any advice

hi have you thought of a rear facing car seat for group 1? we have a britax two way elite for 20 months ds. we got it from the in car safety centre and it fits in most cars(small cars too-had it in a 3 door clio and fiesta). they are really helpful and you could call them and ask what they advise. simon is very helpful and you can call him on 02890742052 or if you are near belfast or milton keynes go to their shops. they are more helpful than halfords!!

If that isn't an option, take your car to Mothercare and try the Britax First class in the ALTERNATIVE routing.

You have a long seat belt stalk. I can't remember how it looks, is it a cable or is the stalk a belt? If it's a belt you can twist your stalk 3 full 360 degree laps and use it safely.

Most compact RF seat is Britax Hi-Way (rf 0-25 kg). It also comes with an extra styrofoam piece which lifts seat off vehicle seat a bit extra so a long seat belt stalk usually works.
