Hi there,
I'm trying to get my head around the Isofix system in cars. I have a Peugeot 206 (manufactued in 2000/2001) and I wondered if anyone can tell me if it has Isofix points attached?
If it doesn't, does anyone know if you can attach an isofix points? Or is my only alternative to use seat belts or buy a newer car (in my dreams!!)?

I have just bought a Mia Moda elite pushchair with matching Mia Moda viva car seat. Can anyone help me, or at least educate me a little on Isofix? I haven't a clue!!!!
Thanks,
Briony x

look in your car manual if you have one
otherwise you need to examine the rear seats for points

you can't add them after the event

Almost certainly won't have them, as they are only standard in more modern cars.

You can't get them added, they are part of the car chassis when it is manufactured.

With an older car without isofix you will need to attach the car seat using seat belts. Go somewhere where there are trained fitters - we have a Peugeot 306 1999 and had real trouble finding car seats to fit without 'buckle crunch' (where the buckle touches the seat - is dangerous in a crash). The only seats that fit were the Recaro infant carriers.

Did you buy the car seat without trying it in your car? If you did, you must get it checked by a qualified fitter!!

i think mine might have had them though it was too long ago to remember! was maybe a yr or 2 newer than yours. feel for them. they're were the seat back and seat base join iykwim and are 2 metal hooks. slide your hand from one side of the seat to the other and if they're there you should be able to feel them. hth a little.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I don't think
mine has isofox so will just go with the seat belt option. Good advice to get it checked out by the council, will do that.
