Mx5 bucket seats

Hello!

I have bought (but yet to collect) a new shiny, 2 seater with ridiculous sporty type bucket seats. I appreciate this was completely self indulgent and something of a midlife crisis. Having said that, I think I'm gonna need a new car seat!

Where do people buy seats from? Also anyone know of a model that fits in ridiculous sports seats?

Thanks

Best thing to do is go to a decent nursery store (not Halfords) and get them to fit different seats in the car for you to find one that goes. Whereabouts roughly in the UK are you?

You'll want to consult the manual to see if the airbag should be turned on or off. Ideally they say for front seat installation, it's safer for the child to be rear facing with airbag off, than forward facing with it on. As the airbag can do a lot of damage if it goes off at child head height.

Does it have isofix points in the passenger seat? What is the age and weight/height of your child? And what seat do you currently have?

Thank you for replying.
She's six so forward facing at the moment.
I bought her first seat from mother care, but they are long gone now. I can't think of anywhere else except halfords, which isn't filling my heart with joy.

It has iso fix and automatically turns the airbags off - its all very clever, it's just the shape that bothers me so trying a few is a winner, I just can't think where to actually go! 😔

John Lewis, Mamas and Papas or an independent. I'd see if you can look on the stockist website of any well known brand like Cybex, Britax, etc and look through until you find an independent store in your local area. Try them first but if it has to be a chain then the above two are the best/have the best training.

Are you sure the airbag disables when any car seat is attached, or is it just when one of the official ones is attached with a transponder in it? Either way, with a high backed booster you might be advised to keep it turned on. Check the car handbook when you get it.

Sure about the airbag thing - its in the manual and my current one does too. There's a light to confirm it. Too clever for me.

There's a mommas and papas not far! Will try there. Thank you!

Britax has a fit finder on their website that you put your car make and model into and it tells you which of their seats fit your car.
