Baby is 18 months old, used doona since birth which has been brilliant as we live in the city, don't have a car & travel a huge amount

I am about to go on a long haul trip & need to workout what to do now doona is too small
I have a cybex priam & Joolz air strollers

What car seat would you recommend? Are there any 18month+ that can also be compatible with cybex? Not looking forwards to carrying a huge car seat around

thanks!

None attach to a pram unfortunately.

At this stage you can't get cheap, portable AND safe - you have to pick two.

Best thing for combo of portability and safety is probably Nachfolger. However that is pretty expensive.

You could go for cheap + safe - Graco Extend LX R129 is the option I'd go for here. Keep it rear facing. These are not that small/portable, although it's much lighter than the seats most people buy to keep in their car full time.

Or if you want portable + cheap you could look at Maxi Cosi Nomad. It's forward facing, which is not ideal for an 18 month old but might be a compromise you are willing to make for the portability.

If you are going long haul you might look at some car seat safety pages for the place you're going too. As they may have other options available depending on the country.
