Car seat for 16kg+ 102cm 3 year old

Hi my son turned 3 last month and has nearly grown out of my Mum's car seat already. Any recommendations for stage 2/3 car seats, pref forward facing please? I have a Maxi Cosi Emerald and he is currently still rear facing in my car but that has to be turned round when he hits 105cm, 18kg too, (but forward faces till 125cm) Thanks in advance.

Does she have isofix and top tether points in her car? (If her car is newer than 2013 it definitely will have - any earlier and you'll have to go looking)

You'll need a harness up to 25kg because just 3 is much too young to go into a seatbelt yet. Your Emerald is seatbelt only after 105cm/18kg as well unfortunately.

Most people go for Joie Bold but there are some cheaper options too - BabyAuto Dupla, Cozy n Safe Excalibur, Cozy n Safe Hudson, Infasafe Event FX.

If she doesn't have the top tether the only options are rear facing. I think the cheapest is Axkid Move.

Thankyou @BertieBotts I'll look for the Joie bold (and check the others), she definitely has isofix as the current seat has that (not sure about the top tether)

I have the Joie Bold for my 108cm tall 3.4 year old, whose legs stopped fitting properly when rear-facing by about 2.8. I like it a lot and it’s easy to fit and re-fit if you need to swap between cars.

Thankyou @DoesItHaveKosovo I think I'm going to go for the Joie Bold but put it in my car and maybe give Mum the Emerald from our car for occasional use. X
