Maxi Cosi carseats and family fix base recalled in USA. Does this apply in UK?

Hi. I've seen some of the maxi Cosi carseats and the family fix isofix base are being recalled in USA due to safety issues.

Does anyone know of this also applies to products sold in the UK? We have the maxi Cosi cabriofix infant seat and the FamilyFix isofix base so I'm just a bit worried!

Thank you x

They're typically totally different seats; as the regulations across the two countries are really different, and US seats aren't legal in the UK. There's been no announced recall in the UK, that I can find.

Hi, no it won't don't worry. They are totally different models as FiveHundredDucks says.

It does cause confusion when they use the same names across the pond, I wish they wouldn't do that!

I've just looked into this a bit further and it seems some wires might have got crossed - there was a FamilyFix base recall back in 2010, but nobody should be using a base that is that old any more anyway. The current FamilyFix bases are unaffected.

The current (2023) Maxi Cosi recall only affects US models and doesn't mention FamilyFix at all, nor any models which are sold in the UK, it is these models (US regulation) the only one which shares a name with a UK model is Coral.
