what car seats can I use on Uppababy 2012

Hi everyone. I made a silly mistake and bought a second-hand Uppababy Vista travel system from 2012. I really wanted that brand but didnt think that such an old version may come with an issue or two because it looked in relatively good condition when I viewed it. The car seat it came with, however, is a Maxi-cosi one also from 2012 and therefore, not ideal to use 11 years later. I was always planning on buying a new one anyway but looks like all the new ones may not be compatible with the adapters from 2012 from what I am reading and I really dont know what to do now. However, I do also think the actual adapters endpoints to which you attach the car seat are all the same anyway, and Im reading a lot of comments that sometimes the manufacturers don`t give the exact correct information on what car seats fit exactly what models of prams..Has anyone had any experience with this particular issue? Do you know if a new model car seat would work on this 2012 uppababy model?

I have an uppababy vista v2 (so 2019?) and i have found their customer service to be excellent so def worth giving them a call or sending a message. Good luck - it's a fab pram so hope you can work out a solution!

Yes you can get maxi cosi adapters (the ones it came with) you can fit the cabriofix the tinca the pebble on it, you can also fit the avionaut cosmo/pixel pro on which are very excellent car seats. Additionally brands like Cybex and nuna as well as the UB carrier will fit but not as good for newborn fit as the maxi cosi and avionaut

Yes the adapters are the same between brands.

If it fits an old Maxi Cosi it will fit any of the up-to-date infant, carry type seats from the following brands:

Maxi Cosi
Cybex
Nuna
Avionaut
Besafe

Also Joie - except Juva
And any new Britax seats 2022+ (Babysafe i-size 3 or newer) - Babysafe i-size 2 and older use different adapters although I'm fairly sure you could get Britax type adapters to use with the older Britax baby seats if you wanted to.

You could get an exact list from the manufacturer but it will only include the models they tested it with which will be the old ones from 2012.

You're right not to use the old seat that it came with.

You could also take the buggy and adapters to your nearest car seat shop, usually the staff will be happy to advise what will fit on it :)

Thanks a lot everyone! I ended up going to a John Lewis shop and brought the adaptors with me and they did fit on the Maxi Cosi cabriofix which is what I have in mind to buy. The lady was very helpful and explained they may not say they fit on older models simply because they have not been tested on older ones but that they are all universal anyway. There did seem to be a tiny bit of wiggle room when they clicked onto the seat but she said this is normal and happens to most of them and once the weight of the baby is added to the seat it becomes more stable and it`s not anything to worry about. Such a big relief that I can use a new car seat with the buggy!
