Cybex Aton5 newborn insert problems!

Hi, I'd be grateful for any help!

I'm in the process of cleaning and getting this car seat ready for using with DC2 when they arrive in a few weeks. When I put the newborn foam wedge cushion in the seat it seems to create a ridge between the top of the insert and the headrests...I don't recall this ridge with my first child and I'm worried it would be uncomfortable for the baby?

I've tried it in all positions and just can't get it right! Does it have to be used with all newborns? I know about folding the other insert underneath and was wondering if this would be enough? Baby likely to be over 8lb at birth so won't be teeny tiny!

Are you sure you have the right insert and you aren't using one from a different car seat by mistake? The only insert for the Aton 5 is a small wedge of polystyrene which goes right under all the covers and in the bottom corner of the seat, it doesn't make any kind of ridge at all.

There is also the flap that folds under as you mention but this is attached to the headrest and doesn't come out so I wouldn't really think of it as an insert.

I've got the seat coincidentally in the house as we've just stopped using it for DS3 so I can take photos tomorrow if you need me to.

Ah thanks so much! That explains it then. We have a bag of various seat inserts and I just assumed this one was the newborn wedge for the cybex as it's the same colour and width and seems to fit in the space other than the ridge it creates at the top!

I had given up with it anyway and just folded the flap under. The polystyrene wedge is already in there so that's ok. Thank you!

Easy mistake to make :) I never understand why they don't put some kind of label on the inserts, saying which seat or even at the very least brand they are for!!
