Baby Car seat - Joie iGemm2 or iLevel (signature)

Only £45 extra for me to get the iLevel than getting the igemm2 + the base.

I know ilevel can lay flat... 1st question - is this worth it? and is it safe on the ilevel. I have heard that ilevel only pulls out from the legs as oppose to the Cybex cloud Z that lays completely flat.

My other question is - if lay flat isn't that important - is there anything on igemm2 that is better than iLevel.

Any feedback on both iGemm2 or iLevel would be appreciated.

Thanks

WE have the I Level.
It's great. the lie flat was SO useful when she was asleep and i could just clip the carseat onto the pram, or bring carseat into the house

if our car was bigger I'd definitely lie her flat on long journeys too.

Felt very safe and secure.

@yellow13 - did it feel bulky in any way?

And did you find the base was sturdy and felt secure?

We have iGemm 2 and to be honest I wouldn't recommend it. Baby looked squished and uncomfortable until he was old enough that we could take the newborn insert. He didn't complain but something about his position made me alarmed. I didn't have such worries when my older DS was a baby in his Maxi Così.
Straps were also hard to properly tighten until the newborn insert was removed.

The iGemm is bloody awful, so scrunched up. i-Level is lovely, the only two downsides being that it's heavy and you can't use it without the base so you have to move the base around if you want to put it in another car.

If you're looking at compatability with pushchairs BTW, those two use the universal/Maxi Cosi adapter so you'll have more choice of brands than that if you wanted to look into other options.

The i-Level and Cybex Cloud Z lay about as flat as each other. Neither is true lie flat. It's about 23 degrees from flat. Much flatter than an ordinary car seat but not flat enough to be considered totally sleep safe - use common sense with it. It's likely better for breathing than a normal car seat but not as safe as a cot.
