Is the Cybex Aton M as big as the Cloud Z?

I believe (though may be wrong) that the Cloud Z is one of the largest infant carriers available. The Aton has the same height and weight limits, but is the seat as large in reality? Just looking at ways to try to minimise the number of seats to buy, and investing extra money into the Cybex Z system is something I’m a bit reluctant to do, as I serious doubt I’ll be getting the second stage seat.

It is pretty much the same size. I measured them once and those were the two largest ones in the shop.

That said though you don't really need the extra height you get - anything with a height limit over 80cm is sufficient to get you into the cheaper 25kg ERF seats, if that's what you're hoping to do? You'll never get a Group 0+ seat that can last you all the way to booster age, you'll need a Group 1 in there at some point.

If you really want to minimise seats you might want to look into Axkid One+ or Avionaut Sky? But you don't get the benefit of a carry seat that way.

Thanks Bertie. I probably should have been clearer, planning on having two kids around a three year (hopefully) age gap, so hoping that the infant seat would last the second child until the older child was ready for a booster seat. So hoping that a bigger infant seat would mean less chance of needing two toddler seats.

Aah good point! Yes that does make a difference indeed. And you definitely don't want the toddler seat taking up the same base in that case.
