Best rear facing car seat to go behind tall driver

I’m due baby 2 imminently..we already have a cybex sirona I-size seat set to rear facing for our 22 month old. I’d like to keep both children rear facing till around 4 years due to the safety benefits...however we’ve just realised that if we have two cybex’s there is no room to fully extend the front seat back where my 6’5 husband is sitting. Can anyone recommend a good car seat designed for extended rear facing that can fit behind a very tall driver?

I should add that we’re in a Mini Countryman...so not exactly a tiny car but not massive

25kg rear facing seats tend to be more compact. I believe the Britax MaxWay is the most compact one

We're having the same problem, with number two due in March. Is there a similar seat to the MaxWay that has Isofix?

Axkid One, but it's very expensive due to the engineering required to make a lightweight seat that can take a child of higher weight/height.

Oof yes that is a bit pricey! Is a belted seat as safe as an Isofix?

BertieBotts · 16/11/2021 14:14

In this case yes, because they have a support leg just like isofix seats do. There is a higher chance of incorrect fitment with a belted seat so it's a good idea to buy from a retailer who will show you how to do it in person, or at the very least make a point of watching fitting videos on youtube as well as reading the manual thoroughly.

In that case I think we may go for the MaxWay, I'll see if there's anywhere locally that we can try it to check DH can sit in front of it, thanks for the advice.
