Toddler wriggling out of straps

Hi, my two year old has just started to wriggle his arms out of the straps in the car seat. Which is obviously very distressing when on the motorway today! Any tips on how to stop him? I'm worried some of the clips aren't safe, and the BeSafe one that seems to be recommended says for stage 1 seats?

The straps pulled tight, only two finger's between etc.

Thank you

My daughter was the same, we used the 5 point plus anti escape harness which did the trick and doesn't stop the one handed release issue which chest clips etc have.

We used the besafe belt collector. Are you worried about it not being suitable for your car seat? Group 1 seats are the toddler seats. Infant seats that last to about 14 months are group 0+

@Paddingtonsmarmlade yes, I want to make sure it's compatible. His seat is a Joie Bold, so it's group 1/2/3

You can use the Besafe clip with Joie Bold.

Do check your headrest is at the right height as well. It needs to be a little bit higher than you'd think. You want to ensure the straps are level with the top of his shoulders.

No bulky coats in the car as well.

Thank you. BeSafe clip ordered, but I've also had a move of the headrest and straps to make them higher and he hasn't managed to escape for the last 2 journeys so it may have been that. Thank you!
