Joie I-Spin 360 isize or Britax Romer M Dualfix

Hey Mummas!

Please help! I'm after a new car seat for my 8 month old, we have a 3 door car so we're after a car seat that spins, for ease as he's getting heavy to lift through to the back of the car and over the side!
I'm torn between the Joie I-Spin 360 isize or the Britax Romer M Dualfix isize.
Do any of you have either of these and why did you decided on them?

Thanks!

Joie ispin 360. I got ours a few weeks ago and love it. I chose it because it scored well on ADAC testing which is higher than UK standards (it's German) and it was a reasonable price. Really happy with it

Thanks @AphroditeGoddessOfLove, I really appreciate your reply. The Joie is the one I'm swaying towards so that's super helpful! I think I'm decided! ☺️

These are both good options, the only thing I'd say is to have a test fit in your car if possible. The problem is the backs of the seats can protrude a bit which can make it hard to spin them facing the middle of the car. Depending on the shape of your back seats it can be annoying. The Joie is a bit more wobbly when fitted whereas the Britax is rock solid. The Britax takes up more space from the front seat when rear facing.

Silver Cross Motion and Maxi Cosi Mica are some other options where the button is accessible for three door cars.

The other thing to be aware of is that a seat up to 18kg will only last until age 4 if your child is average size or smaller. If they are big for their age you might want to look at seats which go up to 25kg instead. These don't spin, so you'd have to weigh up the longevity vs the convenience of the spin feature.

I had the Britax one for my son when he was younger. It was a nightmare to clean :( he used to get car sick alot and the design of the chair left two big gaps where the straps came up for the sick to seep down inside. No amount of cleaning could reach all of the sick 😖 used to have to try and poke cotton buds in but never, ever got the chair clean. I feel like it's a flaw to the design.

We have the joie I spin 360 too. Amazing car seat and I would definitely recommend it.

I think all car seats with the straps that adjust with the headrest have that issue. The ones where you have to thread the straps through themselves are simpler and probably easier to clean, but more annoying to adjust as the child grows.

What car do you have?

M0NSTERGIRL · 18/06/2021 09:43

Thank you ladies, you've all been super helpful!
Think we've decided on the Joie then! ☺️

@Soontobe60 I have an Astra hatchback 3 door

We have the Britax and liked it so much we chose the same again when we needed one for our second car. Really easy to use and our little one is happy in it. Their customer service was great too, there was a loose screw in the box which they thought had just fallen in the box but they sent out a replacement chair and collected the ‘faulty’ one the next morning as they didn’t want to risk anything. Also scores highly on ADAC. The britax website often has offers on certain colours too.
