Car seats

Newborn - 12 months swivel car seat

Baby due in May, we already have one but I felt like after 6 months they are quite heavy to lift into the car seat if you cannot turn the car seat.

Can anyone recommend a car seat that spins for newborns - 9 - 12 months (normal first car seat). I suppose it's the base that turns but as no access to shops and not knowing how I'll feel when I'm 36+ weeks, I would like to order it online.

The only one that does this is Cybex Cloud Z with Base Z :)

I have a Britax Dualfix i-size that has a newborn insert. I got it when LO was about 6 months (so we could have a seat in each car) DC is 4 and I still love it.

Joie 360 is from birth to age 4 I believe. I moved my son into it, after a maxi cosi, aged 1 though.

I have this one, it’s great. It’s heavy, but I don’t really take it out of the car so it’s not been a problem for me.

I have a Joie 360, it is a spin seat and goes from birth to 4 years.

Maxi cosi axis's fix plus is suitable from newborn and is a life saver

@BertieBotts I will get that one it seems unless there is a maxi cosy one that does this.

@Annalou30 I want one I can remove from the car for the first year rather than one that stays in all the time, especially up to 6 months.

@sarahc336 could you please check what model you have? Our son is 2 and has the maxi cosy that spins but wouldn't be suitable from birth and I want one I can remove x

No, none of the Maxi Cosi bases spin. Maxi Cosi have a couple of spinning seats but they are all fixed ones that stay in the car and do up to about age 4.

The problem with getting one you can remove is that it will be very heavy. I have a Joie 360 for my grandson, used it from 3 months. I struggled getting his old seat in and out due to the weight of it all, and find it much easier just taking him out of it!

Cybex Cloud Zi and spinning base. Car seat is lie flat (or as lie flat as can be) and you can remove from the car. No awkward twisting putting it back in or taking out. The base lasts for the next car seat up till age 4 I believe

@BertieBotts it's so much easier when shops are open, the one for my toddler is maxi cosy and spins but it's probably the seat that spins but it's obvs not removable (happy to have one that does not need to be removed from 1+).

I kept my first in there when he fell asleep and I know it's against the lullaby trust guidance but I made sure his airways were clear etc so pls no judgement x

@BertieBotts @TH22 I ordered the base and car seat yesterday, got a cheeky 10% off as I asked the store on Instagram and they were happy to give me 10% given I spend over £1000 in there overall xx

Oh brill, well done for asking, people don't always think to but it's always worth a try!

Hope you enjoy the seat.

I know they have just released the maxi cosi pebble 360 which is 0-15 months , spin base and can be removed from car , then you can get the Pearl 360 for the same base. Not sure when it will be on sale yet though.

@surreymum89 thank you! I did end up getting the cybex cloud z, unpacked it and had a look and I LOVE it! Back in the wrapping and put away until I'm closer to my due date (due mid May) xx
