Cybex Solution

I'm looking at booster seats at the moment, and I'm completely overwhelmed by the range on the Cybex website. Just looking at the Isofix compatible seats there is the Z I-fix, S I-fix, M-fix, M-fix SL, X2-fix, X-fix, B-fix, B2-fix, B2-fix+ and B2-fix+Lux.

I can't find anywhere that simply explains what the differences are between all of these seats, and a recommendation for which is the best one to buy. Does anyone have any experience with these seats?

Hope this is not too late.

The best/most up to date two models are the S-ifix and Z i-fix. These both have nice long backrests so will last until child no longer needs a seat, the Cybex headrest recline, side impact pop out wings, and the Z-ifix expands widthways as well as upwards as the child grows - good for broad shoulders, bad for space in the car. Z-ifix also has nicer fabrics than S-fix.

Next step down is M and X. These are older seat designs. A bit less protective/comfort features.

B is their basic range.

A 2 probably means it's slightly more up to date but who knows what the differences are.

SL means soft-latch which is isofix hooks attached to a short belt which you tighten whereas -fix usually means a rigid isofix bar. In either case you can fold the isofix away if you don't want to use it. SL probably makes the seat weigh a bit less than a solid metal isofix.

I would guess Lux means that is has nicer fabrics.

Thank you very much :) I was assuming that the Z would be better as it's in their upper end range, but I wasn't sure why really. Expanding outwards sounds ideal as DH plays rugby, so potential of big shoulders and outgrowing a seat widthways before length!
