Too small for Britax Romer?

I have a 6 month old DD who is 98th centile. She’s on the brink of maxing out on her baby car seat height-wise.
I have a Britax Romer Max fix II that I got from a friend-meant to be birth to 4years. I can’t seem to get the straps low enough, which must be wrong surely?! They are on the lowest setting but still seem to be above her shoulders... not by loads but still, I don’t see how this works ‘from birth’. Is it safe to have her in? I must be missing something.. thanks!

Has she given you all the inserts?

Also be aware that if your DD is 98th centile she will reach 18kg before she is 4 (you can track her weight predictions in her red book) and therefore you will need a 25kg seat as she would be too young to go into a high back booster.

I originally bought an 18kg seat for my DD without knowing that and she would have outgrown it before 4. She now has an Axkid Minikid. My DS is also 98th centile and will outgrow an 18kg seat just after 2.5yrs!

Yes I have the newborn insert but that just makes a more reclined position and is only for use up to 6 months...

Eek! Yes I was wondering about that. My DS is 20th centile so opposite end of the scale! I will look into up to 25kg ones to save up for, thank you!

I'd contact Britax on Facebook to ask about the straps. Or post on Car Seat Advice UK, they're brilliant.

For 25kg seats, the Axkid Minikid is brilliant but the Axkid Move is it's more budget friendly option. Or there Britax Two Way Elite is another very good one.

Thank you v much for the help. Will post on that fb group now, good idea. I’ll check out those seats too.
Thanks again!
