I've spent ages looking at car seats and am still no closer to deciding on one. In fact I think the more I look, the more unsure I'm getting. The Britax Max Way seems to fit the bill? Is it a good option?

DS is a year and quite a big boy. I want a seat that is rear facing up to 25kg as I feel he will exceed the weight limit for the 18kg ones too soon. DD was still just under the 18kg at nearly 5 so her seat last her really well but I can't see DS being the same!

I'd love some recommendations for ERF seat up to 25kg as I'm struggling here!

We have an axkid minikid and it's great. Axkid also do the move which is also good, just without the self adjusting tethers and headrest/ harness which makes it a bit cheaper. We also have a britax two way elite which is a quicker install and is cheaper but it has to brace on the seat in front, meaning you can no longer adjust that seat.
The carseat advice UK page on Facebook is very helpful.

Thanks for reply! I've seen the two way elite mentioned a lot on these type of threads but I can't find it anywhere Confused

You can of get the two way elite from the In car safety centre, or abroad. I have 2, they're fabulous seats, and have an extended leg room fitting option too. They fit most cars, and are economical space wise.

The axkid minikid is another great option but somewhat pricier.

The Britax Two Way Elite has a taller shell than the Maxway - hence why it's recommended more. In the U.K., the only place that has the right to sell it is the In Car Safety Centre. However, you can buy it online and they'll offer phone support to fit it. We have one as a spare but I ordered it from a Finnish site. It's easy enough to fit once you've watched YouTube a few times. Also you can post on 'Car Seat Advice UK' on Facebook and they'll help with fitting.

We have two Axkid Minikids as our main seats. They are excellent. They cost more than the Britax seats but IMO they are better seats. (Probably not in terms of safety - there they all score quite equally!)

Thank you both, this has really helped. That's useful to know about the TWE being better height wise as DS will be tall for sure! I think we have decided to opt for an Axkid mini for our main car. Currently in my car, DS is in our Britax Dualfix that was DD's. But this only goes up to 18kg and is so bulky so when he's a bit bigger I think we'll either get a second Axkid or a TWE.

I second the minikid. Really safe and lasts until 25 kg, also super comfy
