Peugeot 206 and car seats help!

We have a 2006 Peugoet 206 Urban, and are having a nightmare with car seats. With it being almost 12 years old there is no isofix points. And it is a 3 door, so the back seat slopes down.

Tried a Joĺe Stage 0+/1/2 and it wouldn't lie flat instead rode up the back of the back seat. The fitter at Halfords said the only other one they had was a maxi cosi one and that that would do the same.

What do I do? Really need to get my L.O. in a Stage 1, currently in a BeSafe and I can no longer carry it.

Also, was thinking a car seat that swivels would help put L.O in easier as there's no back doors and will have to stay rest facing.

Thank you in advance for any advice given, really desperate to find a seat that fits.

First thing is you need to check what your child's height and weight prediction is at 4 years old - track it in their red book. If they are going to be more than 18kg, you need to look for 25kg seats to keep them rear facing until they're big enough, mature enough and properly developed for a high back booster (minimum age 4).

I would recommend joining the Facebook group 'car seat advice for mummies and daddies' and searching for your car to see what other people have suggested. You could also think about putting the seat in the front (air bag off!) if that's an easier option.

Something like the Britax Two Way Elite would be a good starting point to investigate.

Forgive me for sounding patronising but are you 100% sure there are no isofix points? I thought there weren't on my 2004 Honda but just found that older cars have them further back, thus buried out of sight. Have you had a good prod around the back of the seats and checked the manual?

@ineednewshoes no wasn't patronising. X I have checked and definitely not any points, went to speak to my local dealership about it and they check their systems and don't even have a recommended list of car seats for that model.

It's a frustrating realisation isn't it! Although my car has the isofix points, because they're quite low, in addition to the seats being quite sloped, all the Group 0+1 seats tilt more upright than I'm happy with. It makes me wish I had a different car, but alas funds are far too stretched at the moment for that.

We had a 2004 Peugeot 206 and had a maxi cosi priorifix as a toddler seat. It clamped onto the seat belt and seemed very secure. I think they still make them.

I agree, a different car would be easier but in the same boat with funds. It's going to be really hard whilst rear facing if I can't get one that swivels, the angle is quite tight.

I have looked into the Priori and it's forward facing, I believe. My baby is only 7 months so needs to be rear facing for quite some time yet. I really don't know what to do.

Have you joined the FB group? I'd honestly look at the Britax Two Way Elite and put it on the front seat. I'm sure that's what people on that FB group recommend for 3 door cars. It's about £180 from the In Car Safety Centre at the moment.

Yes it is forward facing, sorry, I didn’t realise your LO was so young. (My 2 both went from the baby one into forward facing at 9 months because it was 10 years ago and they didn’t really do rear-facing ones for bigger babies then) Hope you get sorted with something suitable.

Why don't you just keep the infant seat in the car rather than lifting it out?

I fully agree infant seats are heavy to lift when babies are bigger but she will be better protected in an infant seat than a group 0/1.
Heads rolling forward seems to be a common problem amongst most of the 0/1 seats.
