i bought a used maxi cosi for my nanny to use. she doesn't have isofix so will use it with the seatbelt. however it was given to me on the base and i can't get the bloody thing off! been wrestling with it for the best part of an hour. can anyone who owns one tell me: is it the grey button at the front that you press? there's also a grey plastic thing at the front of the seat and when i press that it slides backwards and forwards but doesn't come off. aargh!

Push the grey bit towards the lights and lift the seat. If it's this base

Oo i might have my instructions somewhere is it the pebble?

Squeeze the grey bit on the base in and wiggle the car seat off. Mine gets stuck sometimes too. It's a bit like a stiff door lock sometimes you have to wiggle it about a bit to get it to unlatch.

I had that one. It doesn’t come off the base - it’s an isofix Seat the base is attached to it. It can’t be belted in.

snowsuit · 15/01/2018 14:59

nooooo!!! well that at least explains why it won't come off. thank you invisimamma for saving me several more hours of swearing at it.

snowsuit · 15/01/2018 16:45

no definitely not isofix, it's a tiny very old car :(

Doh, what a pain!

If you need a cheap group 1 seat with seatbelt fit I would recommend:

Britax Prince/Eclipse

Halford's Own Group 0/1/2 seat

Joie Elevate/Elevate 2
