What's the best HBB with 5 point harness?

Hi, my son has outgrown his maxi cosi priori seat. So the next stage is a high back booster. Maxi cosi don't seem to do one with a five point harness though.
I've been looking at the britax evolva 123 and I think it's what I'm after.
Does anyone know of any other brands that do HBB with 5 point harness?
He's 2.10 and weighs about 2 and a half stone. His head is over the top of his priori seat so I'm worried the side protection won't do it's job.

I think for that stage car seat its when their eyes are above the top of the seat that you have to change up. If that makes sense?! I'm also looking for a high back booster for my 3.6 year old and have heard the hauck one is good.

We have a graco nautilus elite. When we bought it around a year ago it was between that and the Britax evolva. I don't remember there being a huge difference from the many reviews I read for both though I managed to get the graco possibly £50 cheaper than the Evolva so went for that one.

You do know that the 5 point harness has to be removed from a Group 1-2-3 seat when the child reaches 18kgs? That's 2 stone 11lbs.

You can't just keep using the harness until you think the child is old enough/sensible enough to sit in the seat as a high backed booster using the seatbelt.

If it has a 5 point harness it's not a HBB.
Boosters use the seatbelt. My middle DS had to go in a HBB when just turned 3 as he is tall and heavy. We chose the Concorde X-bag which gets good reviews and we found easy to use.

The britax advansafix has a 5 point harness to 25kg then can be used as a HBB with the seatbelt after that. It's an amazing seat, well worth the money.

MiloCat · 13/04/2015 21:09

He will be ok in his maxi cosi until his eyes are above the top. The advansafix is a good next seat as as the pp said, you can keep the harness on until 25kg rather than the usual 18kg.

Just be wary of the claims of the Advansafix. I have a child who has SN. He is only tiny for his age (4 - 9th centile). He was escaping from a 3 point adult belted booster seat. So I though the Advansafix would be perfect for a few more years,

I was going to order one online but thankfully I travelled a long way to try one out. He barely fitted! He was on the top height setting already. My 6 year old (22kgs) couldn't get close to fitting in the seat.

When I asked about the claims that the seat fits a child up to 25kgs with the harness on, it is still height restricted. Once the child reaches the top height limit then the harness needs removing (like other booster seats of this type) and then adult seat belt needs to be used in conjunction with the seat!

I seriously think the adverts and claims are misleading.

HoppityVoosh · 14/04/2015 12:44

Tiggy my DS is 4.8 75th centile for height and weight and he still fits perfectly. The 5 point harness is on the highest setting though so I do think he'll be too tall for the harness before he's too heavy for it.

HoppityVoosh · 14/04/2015 17:02

I meant to say as well it's a tight squeeze with his jacket on but I keep telling DH he's not meant to go in it with his jacket on!

TinyTearsFirstLove · 14/04/2015 22:11

How about the Britax 2 way elite. Can use ff with 5 point harness to 25kg. My child is 117cm (so height of an average 6 year old) and still has plenty of room in the seat.
