Joie Isofix or joie belted car seat base

Help!!! I have just bought the joie travel system for my baby due in February. The joie isofix base is £80 but I have found online a Joie belted seat base for £40. Is there a difference in them? Is one as good as the other? I'm a bit clueless.

In theory Isofix and properly fitted belt fixed seats are of equal safety. You don't need the base, I would probably get Isofix if I could afford it because I'm lazy. In the case of joie I would probably get the Isofix base that also takes the next stage rear facing seat too.

Great, I don't really need the one for the forward facing car seat, as I have 2 year old, who will be going into a high back booster by the time the baby goes into the forward facing, so won't need to buy another car seat. I had the graco before which came with the base (so much less confusing) think I'll just get the cheaper one. We have 2 cars so would have to spend £160 just on bases to swap the seat over. Can buy 2 cheaper knew for the same price as the isofix one Shock
