Ordering new car seat today... Joie Tilt or Joie Steadi?

I don't drive so not looking to spend a fortune but need something compact, easy to install and will fit in most cars and I like the ERF option these 2 give.

I know the seat back of the Tilt is shorter so would probably last a shorter length of time but my 18 month old has only just grown out of her Cabriofix so I think she's on the small side (generally between 25th and 50th percentile for height).

When sitting from ground to top of head shes 48cm if that makes any odds as I can't find much info on these seat dimensions.

Does anyone have any experience of either seat and would you recommend it for our situation?

Oh should also add that I have looked at the Stages which would be a better option but the seat will generally be used beside 2 boosters or people so needs to be as narrow as possible.

Get a steadi, it's almost as narrow as the tilt and will last longer. Plus the rear facing belt lock off is a big improvement on the tilt I reckon. I'm happy with the tilt but if the steadi had fitted with my other two seats I would have kept the one I ordered to try.

I ordered my Steadi last night so fingers crossed its decent, I haven't been able to see any of the Joie range here and don't know anyone who hasn't thought I was mental for considering ERF so buying blind !

From the measurements I'm getting online the Steadi is a few cm's narrower than the Tilt (47cm to 42.5cm if I remember rightly) which played part in my decision, kind of worried if that's not the case Hmm

Fwiw I think you made the right choice, if for nothing else then for longevity. The tilt is 41-42cm wide, I have one in the centre of my i10 and two of these either side. Our "big" car is an Ibiza and we have jane montecarlos either side in there. If you have narrow hbb alongside you will be fine in the majority if cars imo. The steadi didn't fit with the montecarlos in the Ibiza, it was more the shape of it than the width though, a tessellation thing.

ACH it should be fine :)

We don't drive so it wont get used often, worst case would be an adult and a HBB or 2 booster cushions beside it but we'll cross that bridge when/if we come to it haha
