Money no object, what car seat would you buy?

I am a very nervous driver, but have to do quite a bit of it. DH and I have agreed that for a car seat, there is no limit to what we would pay. We just want the best.
Our daughter is 18 months.

However! We do not want rear facing and although the kiddy Phoenix scores very well, we won't buy because it seems very fiddley and, as my daughter fights getting in to the cars seat, I think I would struggle to securely fix (especially with my son seated in the back seat too, so I couldn't go around the other side to secure)

So, what do you think is that absolute best forward facing car once they are out of 0

Forward facing car seats are just no where near as safe as rear facing. Is there a reason you want to avoid rear facing?

Do you have isofix in your car?

Personally I would go for the Britax Dualfix every time, if money was no issue.

It also rotates, so very easy to get little one in and out of.

I researched a bit and Cybex score well. But it doesn't matter how good a forward facing seat is, the protection to the back, spine and neck offered by a rear facing seat will always be safer in most accidents.

we bought a jane exo and are very happy with it. fits the car easily, adjustments are easy to make as well.

I have a Kiddy Guardian Pro for my 4 year old which was expensive but seems good. Not sure I'd use it for an 18 month old though.

Spend as much as you like on a forward facing seat, a rear facing seat is safer.

We went for casual play in the end. It was the safest which one after the rear facing ones and the kiddy ones.

Britax withdraw the kiddy type seats with the panel across the front and issued a safety statement. There are very real concerns about the impact on the spinal column of these seat. Plus they look bloody difficult to install if you have a squirmer. And I have a squirmer.! Plus I read some awful reviews from people who had the type, and it really put me off.

The rear facing are undoubtedly safer. But she and we love car journeys being a family affair, and if she was rear facing,she wouldn't be a part of that as much. So we tool the decision to go front facing.

SOs nephew has a cybex sirona and SO has a three door. We have been taking him once or twice a week and this car seat is a dream. Forward facing it has an impact cushion which clips into the actual seat and is great for fiddly toddlers. It also ERFs with the harness it also swivels. We have bought one for LOs arrival for grandparents cars.

All my mine are in car seats and are all are in RF cybex sironas excluding two; one is in FF cybex Pallas and the other Joie Steadi due to his low birth weight and needing a lower limit seat.

I swear by Cybex. To me safety is better than "family time" no offense that's just how I decide on my car seats and we have plenty of years of car journerys to look forward to :)

I can't follow your logic. our children are rear facing and we chat to them completely normally.

but with all the money in the world I wouldn't buy a fancy forward facing seat, especially if I was anxious about safety.

I'd also like family time when I get there...

Makes no sense to me either. There are no sensible arguments against all under-4's being rear facing in the car. My rear facing 2 year old chats away happily in the car, sometimes to herself and sometimes to me by looking in the mirror fixed on the headrest of the seat her car seat is on.

Even if someone gave me the very best forward facing car seat in the planet you could not persuade my to put my daughter in it.

I spent lots on car seats. My kids rear face in klippan kiss and triofix seats. They have mirrors on the headrest so I can see them and chat to the toddler (the baby isn't really much into conversations!) We can chat perfectly well and also they are in extremely safe seats.

I'm bemused by this thread as well. Money no object because you want the safest seat for your child but won't buy the safest seat because conversation is more important than death or potential paralysis. Most odd.
Each to their own but seems pointless asking for the safest seat if that isn't really your top priority.
