Can anyone recommend a good seat for after ERFing?

DD will be moving out of her ERF seat in a years time (for the baby to move into), and will be four. I am planning ahead I know but I like to do research.

Im assuming she will be restrained using the carseatbelt rather than a harness and will need a high back booster so what is best? Safest? dont mind too much on price as itll be used for dd and ds.

Any recommendations?

Check the to time frames. Cars seats don't last forever.

Likewise with a booster - one won't last your dd and then your ds, given how long hbb are used for.

You could try talking to InCar Safety Centre, they sell a huge range and are very knowledgeable.

Yes I know usually six years. DDs erf seat is two years old and will be used another year for her and then three years for ds.

Similarly when I buy a hbb I will use it for three years ish for dd and then buy a simple base booster and give ds the hbb for three years.

I don't think base boosters are recommended anymore. I still have dd1 in a hbb at 9, and this is certainly recommended by InCar Safety when we replaced her hbb a couple of months ago.

If Britax say 9 years then that is a recent change, as they never used to.

Im looking at the Britax Kidfix Plus if anyone knows anythi g about them

Britax seats don't expire at all, I had this confirmed in an email when I checked with them whether I should be using seats that were 6 or 7 years old when I had my third child.

She is now 2, so the seats are 8 and 9 years old, I am still using them. I have a CosyTot infant carrier, and a First Class combination seat. She has a new Multi Tech ERF seat for day-to-day use, but because she is very petite I just use the infant carrier or the First Class RF if we need to go in someone else's car.

As for the original question, I have a KidFix HBB for my 5 year old. It's just a 'basic' one, no side impact cushions or anything because those ones are too wide for fitting next to two other child seats in my car. I really like it, and my 8 year old 133cm tall son can sit in it comfortably too. The headrest easily goes up high enough and there is enough 'depth' in the seat for him too. I never used an ISOFIX seat for any of the Group 0+ or Group 1 seats, they always seemed more expensive than seatbelted ones and I am confident that I can fit a car seat correctly with a seatbelt, but the ISOFIX is handy on the booster because it means you don't have to remember to fasten the seatbelt over it when it's empty and it doesn't wobble or flip up when a child leans on it to get in and out of the car.
