Does anyone have any experience of the joie i-anchor child seat and anchor fix base please?

DS is currently in the besafe Izi go and we love it. However, he is approaching 6 months and about to go to nursery. I will be doing the drop offs and my DH will be picking up. So I am looking at car seat options as we will need to accommodate two cars. I am looking long term, once we have outgrown the current seat.

Both DH and I are keen to ERF given the safety data. Initially I had assumed that we would move to the besafe izi kid X3 as we have been happy with the izi go, but we would have to buy two rather expensive seats, one for each car.

I have been drawn to the Joie i-anchor child seat and anchor fix base, as we could buy two bases, take the seat out and leave it at nursery, saving us buying two seats. Has anyone tried this seat? I would be keen for first hand reviews please and thoughts re other options. Is it really as portable as the you tube video would suggest!? Is this a good brand - ERF is still rather a mine field to me!

I drive an Audi Q5 and my DH currently a mini, although it is dying and likely will be replaced in the next few months.

Many thanks in advance.

Anyone with the problem of their little one undoing/losening the straps, I would suggest something like this as it stops them being able to access the buckle.

Does anyone experiencing rattling noise from Joie I-Anchor car seat? Especially when the seat is set to no. 7 recline mode.

Bs41rf · 22/02/2016 19:01

Please please do not buy this car seat!
For an 18 month old...it was fine. 9 months down the line our now 2 and a bit year old can release herself from the seat - same as video above. She can also pull out the bumper bar and wield it around next to my 6 month old son while on the motorway. Tried to put put the 6 month old in and it's to upright for him.
Downright dangerous, complete waste of money. Joie are ignoring us. I'm very cross!

Had it one day and promptly returned! Head support too narrow and crushing ds2's ears! He's only 9 months old and 25th centile!

He also couldn't lean back comfortably!

Also recline not great, and the seat stank of synthetic material/chemicals.

Also the strap covers don't come off, so impossible to clean?

Hi. I have just bought the i anchor advance and I'm wondering how do you uninstall the isofix. The tester never demonstrated this and the booklet says nothing neither does you tube!!!

Help please

KatoPotato · 28/02/2016 20:28

Do you mean to remove it from your car? Or to flip out the isofix arms?

WickedGirl · 01/03/2016 21:51

I too find that my 2 year old can undo her straps too easily

I have a very expensive car seat that is too dangerous to use. Joie aren't interested in this issue
