What happens to a HBB when the child isn't in it?

OK, so were just moving into the territory for a HBB (17kg, 5 in a few months), but I have a question. Probably a stupid one...
So, when child is in a HBB, the seat belt holds child and seat in place. You undo the seat belt, child gets out, and then what? Do you need to strap the seat back in before driving without child in? Is there a method of preventing seat flying about the car when the child isn't in without resorting to having to lean over and strap in the empty seat?

Either put it in the boot or use seat belt.
It will probably hit the back of your seat if you brake sharply.

If you get an ISOFIX booster you can just leave it as it is, because it's attached to the ISOFIX points and can't move.

But you are correct, if it's not an ISOFIX one then yes you do have to fasten the seatbelt over the empty seat.

Isofix til 18kg. This only applies to group 1 seats.

Group 2 Seats are held in place by isofix but the child is held in place by seat belt.

I recommendkidfix britax kidfix. Think halford had them on offer.
