My car seat seems to be very wobbly- have I fitted it incorrectly? How can I check?

I've just tried fitting my Maxi Cosi Cabriofix seat, using the Easy Base 2 as I don't have isofix in my car.

The base seems to fit snuggly- the leg extends and goes green and the seat belt isn't twisted and stays tight. When we put the car seat onto the base, it seems a bit wobbly. It's the join between the car seat and the base, not the base and the car.

It might just be the design, and it might not wobble once the baby's weight is holding it down (baby is still cooking so can't really test this theory yet... it'd be very messy!).

Is this normal? Are there any places we can go to get it looked at? We bought the seat from an online shop as part of a travel system, and the base from Mothercare online.

Ours was wobbly. I think it's the design. As long as its green it should be ok. I'm confused as I though you could only use the base if you had isofix? As the yellow slats on the base push onto the hook things behind the car seats? Sorry for the limited explanation! I have no clue what there called x

There are different bases. I had the seatbelted one, the ISOFIX base is a different thing.
Ours probably wobbled a little bit, but I'm sure it was secure and wouldn't have come off the base in the event of an accident.
Do you have any independent retailers near you? You could check the lists of ERF stockists on www.rearfacing.co.uk. Places that sell rear-facing car seats for toddlers tend to have specialist fitters who know anything and everything about fitting any type of child seat. I'm sure one of them would be happy to check your base and seat. I'd not bother with. Mothercare or Halfords, they just don't have the knowledge.
