Have heard this can be expensive and prone to getting rubbish car seats for your money?
Any experiences?
It's only a week in Portugal so would have hoped it was an easy enough thing to do as would prefer not to lug our own.
Not been away much with DD so not sure how this works.
Thanks

How old is your DD? We use one of these when we travel abroad.

Failign that, go for one of the well know car hire companies rather than the cheap local ones. They'll probably have a better selection of car seats.

Ah yes good point age would have been useful - she will be 2 so a while away from the one you linked to though that looks good.

If you can take your own - you can pretty much guarantee that hiring locally will be at best a newish cheap car seat with no instructions and at worst a manky puked on cheap car seat with no instructions! We ended up buying a mothercare high back booster with a harness like this here. It can be taken down into two parts - the back and the booster which then fit into an average size suitcase. You then have time to study the instructions and know how to use it before trying to then fit it into a car!

Thanks Sam that looks pretty good I guess its similar cost to hiring one.
