Has anyone tried '5 Point Plus' Anti Escape System to stop their toddler from wriggling free from car seat straps?

My DD is 2.2 and constantly pulls her arms out of her car seat straps meaning she is only secured in at the waist. No amount of me telling her off makes a difference. I have been researching solutions such as the Houdini Stop strap but think she will easily unclip this herself (on of her favourite things is to unclip clips!) and also read it is illegal to have chest straps in car seats in Europe??!

So found the '5 Point Plus' Anti Escape System 5pointplus.com and wondered if anyone has used this with success. It is still relatively new to the market and not that many reviews.

If you look at rear facing - the way forward Facebook group you'll see a poster has brought it with little success.

However it is if course worth a try as every ones experience is difference.

I've got a Houdini strap. It has worked wonders for my dd, who is now 2y9m.
If I happen to forget to do it up, she soon let's me know.
I think I bought mine on eBay.

Oh, and I think it cost a tenner :)

Sorry, Houdini stop it's called.

I got an alternative chest pad with clip from MK In Car Safety Centre as DD3 who was pretty much preverbal but a canny little whatsit all the same was escaping her Nordic Secura. As we were replacing the Nordic Secura due to it's age (approaching 6y and been in the car the whole time) I wanted to get a new seat with the chest pad and clip at the same time so she just thought it was the new seat. Worked wonders and she has never tried to escape it.

Thanks all for your replies. This morning I adjusted the shoulder straps and tightened the straps as tight as I could. She didnt wriggle out this time but was crying 'mummy its sore' and getting quite distressed by the restriction in movement. Was fine for the 5 mins to nursery but cant imagine her coping for a long drive like that! Will look at some of the other suggestions.

TruthSweet is the chest strap you got this one www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/32/products_id/125?osCsid=ehcugf0acc9jrrmd85hu50g495 ? There is no product description on the website so not sure how it works or if it is for this purpose.

That's what we have. The salesman/fitter just swapped the ordinary pads over with those pads. I think DD3's main problem is she is slightly hypermobile - she has eczema and managed to get out of a buttoned to the neck (at the back!) all in one suit with feet and integral mittens without undoing anything Shock I have no idea how she did it! - so she is well able to get out of harnesses if she so chooses but she can't get out of this one Grin
