Need help to find a car seat that fits Focus 05 plate

Hi I have a newborn Graco car seat that I plan to use for baby number 2. It was DS seat and it fitted well in our old car. Now we have a ford focus 05 plate and the seat does not fit quite as well as id like. I took it to babiesrus to get fitted and the seats belts are too short for it to be installed without the base (it's not an isofix base, just a seat belt installed base) the problem is, with the seat in the base it sits too far forward towards the back of the seat. if that makes sense? so baby's head will be slumped forward and I cant imagine a newborn looking safe and comfortable in it. Anyone else had this problem?
I have been thinking it may be best to buy another seat that will last from newborn to 4 years. preferable the britax first class so baby can stay rearfacing for as long as possible and then move into DS Britax two way elite reafacing. Does anyone have a first class in this car? i can imagine the seat belts will be too short for it. Or can anyone reccommend a seat that fits a focus well? I' going to pop into halfords today to look at seats and see if they can check the newborn seat.

I wanted to buy the Britax first class but when I went to halfords to try it, it wouldn't fit-the lady said it was an awful fit in lots of modern cars due to seatbelt length and seat shape. Mine is an 05 plate citroen. In the end I bought a concord ultimax Isofix seat. I think it's fab. It feels so secure once fixed in. I didn't use it from newborn but it has a special insert for newborns and looks very comfy. My DD is 14 mths now and still rearfacing. It is only suitable for Isofix though, no belted option. It was the only group 0/1 seat that actually safely fitted my car.

The Britax First Class will be a waste of your money to be honest. secondly, if you cant fit the seatbelt around the infant seat, then you most certainly wont be able to with this seat,

Secondly, i would not consider buying from Halfords. If you can make a run to the In Car Safety Centre or Securatot, then I would do that and test the KISS in your car. That is a Birth to 18 kg seat and rear facing all the way. Can be fitted with a seatbelt and baby gets to lie down in it allmost like in bed. If you have enough space with the TWE then you should not get spaceissues with the KISS either.

Hi, we currently have an 01 plate Focus and we have a Britax Two Way Elite (TWE) in it which fits very nicely. We brought ours from here.

We do have to have the front passenger seat all the way forward though to fit it, and that means six foot six DH has to sit in the back next to DD if I'm driving as he no longer fits in the front passenger seat Grin.
