Can I buy new straps for Britax seat or do I need a whole new seat?

I've just posted a thread about our persistent mouse problem. Anyway, last night the latest mouse decided to eat through the straps on DD's car seat which was sitting in the hallway :( Do you know if we can buy replacement straps and will they be just as safe as if it were a new seat, or do we just need to stump up the cash for a new seat?

Give them a ring.

I lost a metal connector piece for my Britax, and they sent me one out in the post at no charge!

I bet you could get straps from them.

Thanks! I don't know why I didn't think of it. Just spoke to them and they do replacement straps for our seat. Still £60, but better than the cost of a whole new seat. And DH has come up with suggestion that she can go in the rear facing baby seat until the straps come through as she is still under the 13kg weight and I think ok on the height too (we don't need to use the car much over next few days so should be fine).

So annoyed with mouse, I wasn't thinking logically at all :)

You need to hang your car seat up. Sounds silly but what if it hadnt been in an obvious place like down the back of the seat that was chewed?
Fasten the straps and hook one over the edge of the bannister. It would have to be a bloody determined mouse to abseil down to chew it then.
