I would like to buy this seat but realistically cannot try before I buy. I have a 3 door Citroen c4 and think it will fit (just)! I wondered if you'd be so kind as to list the cars you have used this in so I can gauge how it will fit. Thanks!

Looking at the manufacturers site, you should be fine Car list link.

We've used ours in an X-Trail, a Nissan Micra and a Kia Sorento - fitted rear facing in all of them, no problem. Also, isn't too bulky to move between cars.

Wherever you buy it from should make sure it fits anyway - I think BeSafe send trainers to all their stockists to ensure that is the case.

It's a great seat by the way - small child loves being able to see out.

Moonlight
I tried this seat in our car (without small child which wasn't very sensible admittedly...) and it seemed very very upright. Have you found this? Is your child able to sleep in it?

MoonlightandRoses · 19/05/2012 21:30

There are additional 'slope' settings on it, but we leave it on the most upright anyway. No problems with small child sleeping soundly in it.
One thing we did find was that the first few naps resulted in head forward on chest (possibly due to getting used to the change from the more inclined baby seat?). Since then small child's head tends to lean on one or other of the wings instead.

StetsonsAreCool · 19/05/2012 23:25

I have it in my Grande Punto. The passenger seat has to go very far forward. Luckily I don't have passengers that often, and I have stumpy legs am short so it's doable for us.

We have also put it in MILs X-Trail and my dad's Volvo S80.

It is quite upright, but as Moonlight said, there are various recline angles. DD has been in it since 7mo and has never had a problem with sleeping. Her head does flop forward occasionally when she's in the Volvo, but their seats slope backwards and she's more upright by default in there.

And I'll second the great view. DD plays peepo with other drivers when we're stuck in traffic and like to wave at van drivers out the back window Grin

MoonlightandRoses · 19/05/2012 23:28

'Recline' - that was the word I was looking for! OP - any chance you could ignore both "slope" and "inclined" and imagine I had said 'recline' instead? Blush

Hi, I don't have one but wondered if this was any use

www.securatot.co.uk/rear-facing-vehicle-compatibility

Also this might not be the seat you want, but if you were interested in the Britax Multitech you can try it out at your local Volvo dealership, they can order it as a part if they don't have one in their showroom.

Barbeasty · 20/05/2012 12:23

We've used it in a Honda Accord and Honda CRV, and it fitted fine in a Honda Civic when the shop fitted it, but we went for the cheaper multitech in the Civic in the end.

safmellow thanks-i did not know that about Volvo dealerships! That's another option to consider. I have looked on securatot's compatibility checklist- looks like only the besafe or klippan triofix fit when i measure.
I'm beginning to think I need a bigger car! DH is 6'1" and these seats seem huge, I don't think its going to be doable, particularly not on a long journey, if everyone is squeezed in!

Fits well in friends Vauxhall Saphira, also in our Volvos. Other friend had one in her VWGolf, fitted beautifully once in but was a tight squeeze to get the actual seat fitted. Never had a problem with children sleeping in it, its a fab seat!

Safmellow · 20/05/2012 17:55

No prob :) my local one were really helpful. Hope you get sorted ok x

patchesmcp · 21/05/2012 11:00

We've had ours in a Seat Leon and a VW Golf and it fits fine in both but the legroom in the front is limited. I can fit in the front and I'm 5ft 8 but I wouldn't want to go on v long journeys. My husband is 6ft 5 and there is no way it would fit behind his seat.

If we have a second child we'll need to change our cars as we wouldn't get that seat and an infant carrier in the back.

It is a fab seat. V comfortable for your lo and we've not had any problems with our DD's head flopping to the front which we do have in the Britax 2 way elite.

nocake · 21/05/2012 21:40

It will fit in a 2004 Seat Leon but you can't have anyone sitting safely in the front seat. They'd be too close to the dashboard and airbag.

It is difficult to say if it will fit in a car without actually trying it. Just because it fits in a similar size car doesn't mean it will fit in yours. There are so many variables such as angle of the seat, adjusment on the front seat, shape of the dashboard etc etc.

dozensofpichu · 21/05/2012 22:31

Nocake-you are right in what you are saying, and until I try it I wont know how well it fits. I really just wanted an idea to see if it fits in hatchback sized cars or whether I'm barking up the wrong tree completely and need to buy a larger family car!

Thanks to everyone,it would seem that it is a very flexible seat and glad to hear that everyone is pleased with it!

ours usually lives in our honda civic, it has also gone in a vauxhalla astra (courtesy car - it fitted brilliantly with tons of leg room in front seat), in laws put it in their mitsubishi outlander with no problems and I think it's been in my mum's honda jazz with no trouble

blueberryboybait · 31/05/2012 22:15

We have had ours in a BMW X3 with enough room in the front but not oodles of space, a Peugeot 206 with no passenger room at all and currently have 2 in a Grand Scenic with oodles of space for passenger (DH is 6ft2 and can stretch his legs almost straight)

HappyAsASandboy · 31/05/2012 22:43

We have used the izi in a landrover freelander 2 rear facing and a yaris forward facing.

DH is 6' and can just about drive the freelander with a rf izi behind him.
