Rear facing car seats

Is there a list anywhere of rear facing group 1 car seats?

DS is fast approaching growing out of his maxicosi pebble and I'm now trying to find something affordable, rear facing, seatbelt fixing and reclinable that we don't have to travel 200miles to buy - we live in rural NE Scotland.

Should I just admit defeat now?

I bought my Britax Two Way Elite from the incarsafety shop in Milton Keynes...they delivered it the next day.
DS is now 2.5yrs and still very happy in it. It has fitted in a Zafira, Golf, Polo, Ka, Freelander, Hyundai something, Focus...so a variety of cars!

This page has a list of shops selling rear facing seats. It is better to try it in your car first because not every seat will fit in every car. However, the shop in Milton Keynes has loads of experience so if you can't get to a shop they should be able to tell you which seats will fit in your car.

Thank you, both.

I have seen that list, but the only one anywhere near us (within 100 miles) doesn't actually stock rf seats at all - I emailed them to ask.

The two way elite looks rather good though. I think I shall call incarsafety and ask for their advice about whether it will fit in our car.

We have a 2-way elite and a small ford focus - it fits fine, if that's any help. Very pleased with it (and Milton Keynes!)

The issue with fitting erf seats isn't always the size of the car. It's also the relative positions of the seats, the angle of the seats and the shape of the passenger side dashboard. That's why you can't assume that a seat that fits in one medium hatchback will fit in every medium hatchback.

Thank you.

We have a fairly large saloon though, rather than a medium sized hatch back so we will probably be ok. I shall call them and ask before ordering though.

The izi is just a bit out of our price range but we should manage to stretch to the britax two way elite.

Hi,

I also live in the NE of Scotland. And it has taken me ages to fine two places that sell the Britax Multi-Tech 2.

Pram centre Glasgow - 01271 343277
Just for baby Montrose - 01674 660566

Hope this help, also alot cheaper than buying them online.

You can also buy the Britax Multitech at Volvo dealerships if that helps. It just has a Volvo logo on.

We also bought the 2 way elite from Milton Keynes. Brilliant service and delivery. Very easy to fit too, but better if you have an in car safety team that can check it for you.
