Replacing sunshade on maxi cosi cabriofix after washing the covers

After much fighting and finding a brilliant post in the MN archives, I finally managed to remove the cover from my maxi cosi cabriofix to wash it after DS had been sick all over it. Problem is, I have now managed to put it all back together again but cannot get the sun shade bit to go back on - the elastic bits just won't seem to stay on the tiny catches and my fingers are red and sore from trying to replace it! I am about to throw the whole thing out of the window. Anyone know how to do this?

I am having the same problem,as I had to wash the cover after our little one being sick all over the seat. I'm finding it impossible to re-fit the sunshade. Removing and re-attaching the cover was difficult enough and the instructions that come with it are pretty useless. Help please????
