Does anyone know of the best/cheapest place to buy this make of child car seat?

I think we're going for the kiddy Guardian Pro 2 and the cheapest I've seen it for is £225.

Thanks

Have you tried kiddicare.com? Its where i got my car seat from. Although as its for an occasional car journey as i dont actually have a car i only paid 37pounds for it, but it means he is safe and legal in a car. Was pleasently surprised at how comfy it seems for him. He manages to go to sleep in it and does cry or whine, which he would if he were uncomfortable. x

I don't think that you could get a Kiddy car seat for only 37 pounds. They are pretty high end and tend to be the same wherever you buy them - I've done the research! For the safety value, I think its worth paying that bit more. Hope that helps. :)

I got a brand new one on ebay for about £180. There are a few sellers stocking them.

joy, if you're anywhere near Birmingham, I can tell you where to get one for £90 or thereabouts (that's not a typo, by the way). It wouldn't be version 2 though I don't think. They have Guardians, Comforts and Inifinities.

oooh wheres that aswellasyou?

aswellasyou · 05/01/2012 22:09

It's called International Stock and sells all sorts of random stuff. It's often smoke or water damaged or bankrupt stock, but the carseats are unboxed or ex display ones from Halfords and InCar safety. I think the prices are about Infinity £55, Comfort £75, Guardian £90. Also they have BeSafe Izi Combis X2 £125, X3 £150, X3 Isofix £175 and a Britax HiWay for £45 without the tethers.
The address is
1, Silver Street,
Kings Heath,
Birmingham
B14 7QX
0121 443 3232
If you call or go in, don't expect them to have a clue what you're talking about! Wink

aswell I can't believe those prices! Thanks so much for sharing this info!-Boobs I'm in N. Ireland it would be worth paying the postage though - I wonder if they would post out? Failing that I'll try ebay, thanks Esme

Ellen I have looked on Kiddiecare and they sell kiddi (their owm brand) as well kiddy seats, I think the former is possibly what you might be thinking of.

Thanks everyone Smile

Here's one for £199.99 (although it is pink): Here you go

I wouldn't go for an ex display one from halfords, it will have been in and out of god knows how many cars. I remember when we were looking at group one seats, a fitter put it in our car, and to feel how sturdy it was I put my hand on the side impact wing and pushed it back and forth. The fitter told me that you must never do that as it can damage the side impact protection, and said for a rear facing seat you should push into the seat shell itself to check it does not move, and with a forward facing seat, tug on the straps to make sure the seat does not move.

I am imagining that the in car safety centre would not sell on an ex display model if it had been damaged, but even then, I wouldn't be too sure.

hi,not sure of cheapest place but simon at the in car safety in belfast sells them- if you end up there though you might come away with a rf seat! Wink haven't actually seen them in any other shops. maybe mcculloughs in bangor or the baby shop in lisburn. both will sometimes price match, though maybe not near you?

:)
